Mimmo's Restaurant is a dream-turned-reality that originated from a desire to share fresh and natural foods with guests, just as they were served to family and friends at home. The restaurant opened its doors on April 30, 2012, with a commitment to certain requirements: sourcing top-quality local produce, high-quality meats and fish, fresh herbs from their garden, organic eggs, sugars, and whole grain flours.
The core principle at Mimmo's is to make everything from scratch. All their sauces, ravioli, dressings, tapenade, breads, and desserts are freshly made in their kitchen every day. The foundation of their Italian cooking philosophy lies in using the freshest ingredients and preparing them with simplicity, allowing the flavors to harmonize without any single ingredient overpowering the others.
Mimmo's Italian roots trace back to Bagheria, Sicily, where Mimmo grew up. The restaurant's logo, featuring a lemon and lemon flower (zagara), symbolizes Sicily's rich history of lemon cultivation and exportation. It also represents Mimmo's personal memories of picking lemons in his grandfather's groves.
At Mimmo's, they strive to uphold the same high standards they have at their home tavola (table) for their valued guests. Their goal is to provide an authentic Italian dining experience, where guests can enjoy the finest ingredients prepared with care and passion. The restaurant invites everyone to savor their meal, saying, "Buon Appetito! Mangia e Bevi!" which translates to "Enjoy your meal! Eat and drink!"
